We aim to explain the maths and keep assumptions visible. Actual motoring costs and vehicle performance vary with driving style, vehicle condition, weather, fuel and electricity prices, and changes to official rules. MotoringCalcs UK does not provide financial or legal advice. It also does not provide personalised tax, insurance, engineering or vehicle-maintenance advice.

Check figures before committing money

Independently verify prices, vehicle specifications, tariff terms, tax rates and finance terms before purchasing, selling or financing a vehicle or entering an energy contract. Seek appropriate professional advice where your decision requires it. Starting prices and values in our tools are examples, not current quotes or promises of future savings.

Energy-only comparisons exclude costs such as depreciation and insurance. Ownership tools include the categories you enter but cannot predict future repairs or resale values. A result is conditional on those inputs and should be considered alongside alternative scenarios.

Conversions and performance estimates

Defined unit conversions differ from vehicle estimates. A horsepower conversion changes units; it does not convert a wheel measurement into an engine measurement. Engine displacement alone cannot establish horsepower. Drivetrain percentages, specific-output presets and acceleration scenarios are assumptions, not validated specifications for your car.

Tyres, wheels and modifications

Geometry calculations do not establish safe fitment, clearance, load or speed ratings, legal compliance or manufacturer approval. Verify the complete tyre and wheel combination and any proposed modification with suitable vehicle-specific information and qualified assistance. Do not use a calculated estimate as a substitute for inspection or a manufacturer's instructions.
